HARMONIZATION HAS STARTED On Friday, March 30th, the Board of the IDHSC formally accepted an invitation from Horse Sport Ireland to commence harmonization with the Irish Draught Horse Studbook of origin and with the Irish Horse Register (Sport horses).
This will be a two step process: 1) We need to harmonize our rules, classification and inspection procedures; and 2) We need to finalize the classification of horses already in our purebred and partbred studbooks. As noted by Alison Corbally of Horse Sport Ireland “ The harmonization of Irish Draught Horse Studbooks is extremely important for the Irish Draught Horse population and Irish Draught horse breeders worldwide. I am pleased that we are now able to begin steps to meet this very important goal, which is so key to the preservation of the Irish Draught.” Please watch this website for announcements on progress.
